I cant believe how fast this summer has gone. I feel a little slow on catching up on my blog here so I’ll let the samples do the talking. In early July I was honored to shoot an evening wedding for Cliff and Becky at the Illini Union. Later in the month I met with Corey and Cher for their Engagement set at Walnut Point near Newman. And just this past weekend shot the first Senior Pictures for a very pretty young lady named Alyssa.

Cliff and Becky’s Wedding was simple and elegant set in the rear sittiung area of the Union. They ceremony was performed in the center bay window and as the ceremony ended the reception hall was a few steps away into on of the main banquet halls. We had met at the union for their engagement shots a few weeks earlier and had a good idea of spots to shoot this day too. After some candid’s in the dressing room it was time for the groupings, Girls first then the boys and in for the Ceremony. After the cermony we shot the whole wedding party and then the Bride and Groom. It was getting dark fast and pulled what we could from the remaining light. The reception followed with toast’s, dinner, cake cutting, first dances and a dollar dance. The DJ, Craig from CG Productions kept a great rythm to the party and I would recccommend him to anyone looking for a quality DJ. Thanks again CLiff and Becky for the honor to be a part of your big day.

Corey and Cher are getting married in a few weeks. They suggested Walnut Point for their Engagement pictures and I was curious, I hd never been there and realizing how close it is, was kind of disapointed. The park is beautiful and there are many great little spots that could be used ofr future photography, not to mention the camping, boating, and just natural beauty of the area. Coprey and Cher are having a cowboy-cowgirl theme and at first I was a little nervous, but they fit the part well. We shot some fun poses first in nicer clothes for the Grands, then it was time for fun. COrey had his best get-er-done shirt and they both had their Stetsons. We tried some different ideas from sitting on a boat dock. feet in the water to another cute fishin’ dock. After this fun day with them I am looking forward to the big day in a couple weeks.

Alyssa was a great model for the day. She came prepared for her Senior Pictures with some different outfits to try and a few ideas of what she wanted. Her mom was a big help too as she had some great sugestions too which leads to less dissapointment in the end. We met at the Illini Arboretum in the morning to avoid the late afternoon harsh light. I love the Arboretum as a backdropas as it can change from seas0on to season. The Japan House is right there too which gives a photographer many settings to choose from. We ended up with over 200 pictures with a dozen different settings tio choose from all within about 2-hours. Here are some samples to check out.

Well it’s not over yet. the fall is here and it’s a busy one. We still have a couple weddings, a couple’s portrait for the grand kids, and couple more Senior Pictures to fit in before my season ends. If you are still interested in Senior Pictures call now to resere a space. I am still taking reservations for next years wedding schedule. This fills up fast, usually be the end of the year so give me a call at 217-766-9163 to discuss any future plans.

Blog at ya later,
Tim

One of my good friends mothers Gail asked if I would photograph her wedding, which was a few weeks ago. At first I said no, as I would have rather just been a guest, and partied with her son and some friends that I knew would be there. Instead, I was convinced and honored to play an important roll and shoot her wedding as she wanted. I was also invited to the bachelor party which included steaks and drinks, a pimped out bachelor, and some other activities which will, lets just say, “Stay in Vegas”. Gail is like a Second Mom to me and I have called her Momma-2 since her son Steve and I became friends some 20-years ago. “Wow, can you believe it’s been that long Steve”?

The wedding and reception were held at the Hawthorn Suites in Champaign. They used a room on the walkway between the two buildings for the ceremony and then a small banquet room for the reception. Both were close quarters and may have added to the intimacy of the celebration. The kids added their own special touches with a solo song from Steve, decorations from Susan, and a Poem from Lee’s Daughter. After th Big Kiss and introduction it was off for pictures at West Side Park.

The reception was nice. Everyone settled in with some cocktails and munchies as we shot the pictures. After the wedding party arrival, we were treated with a sit down dinner, a toast from the groom, and a Cup cake tower. To get the crowd in the dancing spirit, Steve belted out a couple blues hits, and the party was on. DJ Mystro – Henry Luckett, pulled out the old school dance toons and kept the party rolling. Here are some samples from the wedding.

Gail and Lee, I am glad you enjoyed your pictures. I am proud to have been the photographer at your wedding and enjoyed the party as much as if I wasn’t working. Congrats and good luck on your new journey together as Mr. and Mrs. Barry.

This was my first full package deal including both engagement pictures and wedding pictures, which has now become the basis of my Wedding Package. This gave us a chance to get to know each other, share ideas before and during both sets, and ease into the wedding day feeling prepared. The wedding was set at St. Peters United Church of Christ and the couple decided to do their group photos before the wedding. The interior backdrop is fairly traditional and the landscape made for some additional settings for some great shots. It is a great honor to share in the first moments the couple first sees each other and makes for some emotional pictures.

An interesting aspect of this wedding was “Buster” the family dog. Buster was in the wedding party and played the role to perfection. I was grateful to the minister who allowed some close photos from the altar to capture the true intimate moments shared that day. The ceremony went smooth, and directly after, we went to the University of Illinois Arboretum for some outdoor photos. The wedding party also followed for some fun improv photos. From there it was off to the reception.

The couple had chosen the I Hotel, Champaign’s newest Convention Center, for the reception. This is a very nice location for a reception, and the service was on point. After the introduction everyone settled in for dinner and drinks. The festivities began with toast’s, the cake cutting, Bouquet and Garter toss. and right into the dances. They hoped to move through the formalities and get to the party. After taking some random pictures Sabrina suggested I follow them as they go from table to table and anyone who wanted a picture with the couple could get one. This is a great idea as they took a moment to thank everyone in attendance as well as a photo-op to keep in their picture collection.

That pretty much wrapped up the photo shoot. This year I have also set up an account at shutterfly.com for each wedding. The families and friends can go into the galleries and purchase pictures for a very affordable cost. For the couple, thanks again for the honor of accompanying you both, and Buster too, through your wedding process. I had a blast. I wish you both well on your path through life as the new Family you just create and remember,
Live to Love and Love to Live,
Tim

I am excited to be headded into my 3rd wedding season. I have been booking for the past year now and have already finished the first two engagement sets. I have only a few weekend savailable for the year and already have been taking calls for next year. As a pretty new “pro” photographer I have to say I was a little nervous, especially with the print your own program, but the idea seems to be catching on.

Over the next couple weeks I will be posting some new galleries to reflect the most current client samples and if you have visitted before, there will be a dramatic new look and feel to the site. I want to thank Jason Frye Media for the suggestions, CULocalBiz.com for hosting and Stacy McDade for her magical artwork for the banner and other Marketing Materials. There will be easier to use links for Family and Friends to purchase pics from Weddings and Personal Artistic Shots I have chosen to share too. Comments and contact will also be streamlined and pricing of my packages are now posted.

This for now is a work in progress and we are waiting for a new server to be up and running before we can finish. So, check back soon and often and lets have some fun. “Let me Hhelp – Create your Vision”

See http://www.timbrya.com/engsamples.html for samples.

The first couple, Andrea and Randy, had scheduled there wedding for Sept-09 and thought it was a good idea to shoot the engagement photos the same month this year. This was a great idea and something for anyone else trying to plan ahead to consider. We had spent a few hours together, getting to know each other, as well as the location. Allerton Park is a beautiful backdrop, especially this time of year. As we discussed the wedding plans and explored, the couples personality and expectations were apparent. We had found that everything we will need for the wedding shoot was within 100 yards of the ceremony.

The second couple had planned on just starting with engagement photos. Stacy and Scott were prepared with a couple outfits and ideas of their own. As we strolled through the grounds we played with many ideas and quite a few spots for fresh scenery and perspectives. I have known the couple for a few years now, which made this shoot a little easier, and their love for life and each other comes through in the pictures.

Each Engagement package usually is scheduled for morning or afternoon shooting. This allows for the sun to be both high in the day and lower in the morning or evening. With a location like Allerton to work in there can be so much to use as background. It can be fun and exhilarating to explore, and allows time to get to know each other. The smiles turn from nervous to authentic and the portraits then retain the feelings of the special moment, to share with Family and Friends. This is what draws me to this type of Photography, the people.

For those who have found this blog, it was probably through the web site www.timbrya.com. For those just visiting from my last e-mail to friends and family, welcome. For the past few weeks I have been scrambelling to complete my site, with a whole new look, and hopefully a clear concise idea of what Tim Brya Phoography is really all about.

Tim Brya Photography started with a lost dream, put in motion Sept, 06, and through some practice and fun new cameras and lens’, I have found my niche. I love the outdoors and do not work out of a studio. Most of the work I have done so far is all in local parks, and landmarks that make each shoot personal and beautiful.

I have also been buildig a portfolio of prints for sale. They range from large format prints for home or office decor, to medium size prints and assorted gifts. The links are found at http://www.timbrya.com/buyprints.html. I am drawn to Flowers, small critters, local rural scenery, and of course, sunsets. As I travel and explore I will always keep an updated collection of seasonal prints.

Check back often,
Tim

This has been a fun and rewarding summer. I have added a bunch of fun pictures, available for purchase, at my Shuterfly account, see “Buy Prints” button. I also photographed another wedding and still have one left in November to finish the year off. Looking ahead, Next year is filling up fast and with one Wedding per month availability, please try to get signed up soon.

I had my first Senior and Graduation Photo Session this summer too. The younger subjects seem to know what they want and have a confidence that is very photogenic. There are such beautiful areas near us to shoot, and with natural light, the quality is very high for those types of photo shoots.

As you can probably already see, I have been working at establishing a image for the web site. This will help in marketing and referals to show a consistant look and keep a consistant theme and philosophy. I would like to thank Stacy McDade for creating the banner and my new sationary and CULocalBiz.com, or the development and web support.

Thanks for checking us out at TimBrya.com. Please check back often for new additions to the print library as well as new samples of weddings and portraits.

Peace

Hey everybody,

Welcome to the up and coming, TBPS blog. Currently I am pushing to get my web site move from its original hosting place, as a sub link of my personal site. To simplify matters www.timbrya.com will now house Tim Brya Photography exclusively. I also disconnected an ATT&T phone number I had for the past year. During the year, I advertised my cell number on the web site and used the yellow pages for the listed number. After only one phone call, netting a sale, I decided the web seems to be a better marketing tool for this type of business.

I have also added a new link to me site. The “Buy Prints” is a multi-tasking area for TBPS. Fisrt it will be the place clients can send family and friends to purchase select prints. Second, I have been exploring Macro Photography as well as local scenery adn sunsets and have links to my new Shutterfly.com storefront. This will evolve with the seasons, road trips, and other inspirations I am drawn to. I have special pages set up for poster sized prints to enhance that special room , or smaller sized prints and even some puzzles, mouse pads, and other gift ideas. Come on in a check it out.

This weekend I am off to St Joseph for a small wedding, then Kennedy’s in Urbana for the reception. I am excited as the couple seems fun and confident, relaxed and ready for their big day. Sunday I am off to local parks with a special cousin for her Senior Pictures. I should have new samples posted from each shoot soon so keep checking back.
